In the world of Shattered Thrones, there's a variety of magical creatures, all which play a key part in the every day life of mankind. From the tiniest of miscellaneous creatures, to the majestic gryphons of the heavens, and the ginormous draconic breathers of hellfire in subterranean tunnels, the animal kingdom in the Aldera is both vast and grand.
Gryphons themselves are seen as creations of mankind's gods, divine protectors placed onto the surface with the capacity of powerful flight. Their purpose in the eyes of man is to further the divine's will, for it was the gryphon that man partnered with to achieve autonomy against the immortal Aelfi.
In the present times of Shattered Thrones, gryphons have become intertwined with the idea of royalty, with the royal family of Borough claiming their hybrid mounts are of pure stock, and descended from the ancient mounts of the rebellious Aldermen. It is both a blessing and terrifying sight to gaze upon any gryphon, for they are, to the eyes of humanity, wrathful justice incarnate.
Though to the virtuous, they are merely friends, for although they do not possess intellect on par with a man, there is no other animal smarter and empathetic than a gryphon barring their draconic counterparts.
Congratulations on your adventure in writing. I am so proud of the accomplishments you have achieved thus far. Your mother would be ecstatic, she indeed was faithful to reading and supporting all your work. She would constantly remind me to read your stories lol, everyday she would say "Babe did you read DJ's story yet?"
